OUR TEAM
This Is Not Just a League. This Is Legacy.
JAM Sports League was born from generations of fútbol, family, and fight.
It started over 100 years ago in El Salvador with Deportivo Olímpico, a team that taught us how powerful this game could be.
In 1996, our founder’s father, Juan Mejia, brought that passion to California—turning it into a championship-winning team.
By 2000, it became a league.
By 2020, it became JAM Sports—a home for youth and adults trying to find purpose through the power of soccer.
From the Streets to the Stadium
Jonny Mejia grew up in this league. But he also grew up in the streets.
By 2002, he was lost—throwing parties, dealing, using, and eventually landing in jail.
His life was headed in the wrong direction, fast.
But in 2005, he made a decision:
“I don’t want to be another statistic. I want to change.”
So he went back to church. Picked up a ball. Started over.
One team turned into ten.
One kid turned into a community.
Now? JAM Sports serves over 3,500 families across youth, women’s, and men’s divisions.
Our Mission
JAM Sports exists for every kid who feels like they don’t have a shot.
For the ones who think they’re too far gone.
For the ones who just need one person to believe in them.

I was raised on two things: fútbol and survival.
My dad, Juan Mejia, brought our family’s team, Club Deportivo Olympico, from El Salvador to California in 1996. What started as a local team became a full league by 2000, giving our community a place to play, connect, and stay off the streets. I grew up on those fields—but I eventually lost my way.
After high school in 2002, I got caught up in the wrong life—throwing parties, selling drugs, using. I ended up in jail, broken, ashamed, and convinced I had wasted my chance.
But in 2005, everything changed. I went back to church. I picked up a soccer ball—not to win, but to heal. I built a team, then another. I realized I wasn’t just creating teams—I was creating second chances.
In 2008, I met my wife Yuri, who believed in me before anyone else did. She now helps run JAM Sports beside me, keeping everything moving—from fields to families.
Today, JAM Sports League serves over 3,500 families, across youth, adult, and women’s divisions. We help players stay off the streets, build discipline, and chase real opportunities—like college, scholarships, and careers.
I know what it’s like to feel lost. I know what it’s like to need a reset.
This league is for people like me.
